Greetings!
Stoking the Inner Fires
By Jim PathFinder Ewing (Nvnehi Awatisgi)
This month is the "go within" time, as the light outside grows dimmer and the light inside grows brighter. The Winter Solstice marks the Western Gate of the Medicine Wheel of the Seasons.
As we put the Bears to bed in November, they teach us that the time of inner light, healing, dreaming is now.
Ancients throughout time have celebrated the Winter Solstice as a time of light.
That's because, in indigenous cultures around the world, there are two worlds seen: the physical world and the spiritual world. They overlap in many ways, but are different, as well.
In the physical world, this is the time of Mother Night, as it's called, when darkness shrouds the land (in the Northern Hemisphere). Contrary to our Western culture, it is a time when people should be slowing down, to reflect the season. But it is a time of intense light in the
spiritual world.
It is a time for allowing our inner fires to grow stronger, so that light of spirit can more brightly guide us in the coming year. We nurture that inner flame. We honor that good medicine. We give thanks and gratitude for all that is provided for us, as fuel for Creator's fire.
In our Western calendar, it is the end of another year. In numerology, 2008 was a 10 year, that is manifestation: the outgrowth of all that came before, often in surprising ways. It mirrors our true intentions, even as we may have been focused on other issues. Now, 2009 will be an 11 year: dynamic action, change. It is a good time to prepare for it by going within to find the harmony of this time.

Reiki Shamanism Class Jan. 17-18
We've set a date for the Reiki Shamanism class, Jan. 17-18.
Here's particulars: http://www.blueskywaters.com/rscrs.html
Please write Annette Waya if you're planning to attend.
We have created a new Web page at www.bluesywtars.com that lays out our new classes for 2009, under Reiki Shamanism. Note that we have two "streams," if you will, of classes. One is the Reiki component that includes certificates that are honored by other Reiki traditions and organizations along industry standards; the other is the Shamanism component
that does not issue certificates. Since we have been taught in traditional way, that certificates are meaningless in shamanic practice, we don't offer them in the shamanism component, in deference to our teaching and teachers. However, we do offer certificates in Reiki Shamanism, including a Reiki Master Shaman/Teacher course so people may teach from the book, "Reiki Shamanism: A Guide to Out-of-Body Healing," as taught and certified by Jim PathFinder Ewing. Please check our Web site for more information. Note: some of the classes and offerings are still evolving. So check back often.
