Yes, a screening is a test to see how well the person hears, including some
of what ranges they have problems in (bass, soprano, etc). Most screenings
are to catch the big, obvious problems. Then more fine-tuned exams follow.
This way, people with no problem (hearing, seeing, blood pressure, etc) are
saved time and expense of tests they don't need.

In your post about the Continents, you probably know that we were not
taught that there was a continent called "Oceana". I don't know if that
term refers to Australia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea; or if it refers to
the archipelago stretching from Japan southward, including Indonesia?

In my mind, and as you say, this is personal, South America means from
Brazil southward; and latin america calls to mind Mexico, the Central
American countries and a few of the most northern neighbors of Brazil.
