The first sentence I wrote (below) is ambiguous. It can mean that she is in
Mexico and has been there for some time, but I think the more usual way to say
this is 'She's been in Mexico for some time.' ...OR it can also mean that she
has been in the habit of visiting Mexico for some time, which is what I meant
when I originally wrote it. :)

Pero las dos tienen significados distintos, ¿no es verdad?

La primera implica que ella *está* en México, lo cual no es el
caso.
