Thank you so much for checking in with us. All of you have been in our constant prayers. We are so glad that you are unharmed, and that your property is unharmed.
I read that there are "hurricane cycles." Yes, you guessed it. This is a "hurricane cycle" right now. The last hurricane cycle was back in the 1960's when there were a series of damaging hurricanes.
It has to do with the temperature of the water of the Atlantic Ocean. The hurricanes originate off the West Coast of Africa. You could read more about this by doing a search. Not that this helps since another one is developing, and there is absolutely nothing we can do about it. But prayer is a strong power. And although we don't always understand the difficulties in life, we must know that God is in control. His wisdom is much greater than ours, and in the world to come we will understand all things.
Always remember: "The fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much."

I'm glad to be able to let you know that I'm ok.
This hurricane was huge and was barely moving!!!!
We spent almost two days under sustained strong winds and very high
gusts.
We suffered no damage at all. Neither physical nor material (thanks
God) but there is severe damage on many different locations in
Florida.
Probably we are among the first customers to have the electric
service restored (as of this morning, it is estimated that the total
number of customers without electric service could be over
1,000,000).
This has been a very "unique" hurricane season. Now we have Ivan on
its way!!! What's going on?
Well, I was not that concerned about Charley, I do was concerned
about Frances but if Ivan is getting closer, I won't stay here to
see what happens.
I stayed during Frances because my brother was out of town for
training (again) and I was not going to leave behind his wife (which
is 7 months pregnant) and kid, so I was giving them a hand and
stayed since my brother came back Thursday night and he needed more
help to secure his house. As of Friday it could have been more
dangerous to be stuck in traffic on the highways, or even worst, to
run out of gas. At that time the storm was too close, but was still
playing with us, since it was moving too slow (when it wanted to
move).
We still have some moderated winds and several tornado warnings.

I have to leave since my nephew (3 ½ years old) still does not know
that we have internet connection. He has been quite some upset
because there are no "cartoons" on TV and what we have been able to
see are only news, je je je je.
