of hearing what is going on in the USA, and the
photo-journalism in other parts of the world on CNN
news, so I get lots of bad impressions along with the
few good impression on the more educational channels.
PBS had a wonderful documentary "The Boda", about a
migrant family living in Nuevo Leon, and traveling
hundreds of miles to work in the US. I loved that film
so much (I video taped it) and watched it many times.
They were supposed to have a follow up film about how
Elizabeth y su marido tenedo (?) consigue los sueños
buscando un lugar vivendo y trabajando en los EEUU y
Mejico....pero no lo vi.

happen between black people and the "law" that scare
me about the South. Some of the things I have read
make me think I would be very frightened to travel in
these "other realities of life". And once when I did
travel through the South (many years ago) when we
stopped and I went in a small store at night....I got
a feeling of an atmostphere of "distrust"....so much
that I never forgot how different people seemed there.
I am not black, but we did have a car with Pa. license
plates, and I didn't think then because I was so
young, but looking back...that was the time of the
beginning "sit-down" at the lunch counters of the
Woolworth store that the 4 black men started in 1960.
It's amazing how a small group of men can change
history when they put their minds together. February
is Black History month in the US, and they had a
program on PBS about that a few days ago. And one
about Castro early this morning.

I put in negative suspiciousness of people I don't
know, or understand. I guess it seems a natural
defense mechanism to me. Yet there are times that I
feel I do understand in the totally opposite way. And
of course the good way feels good and the bad way
feels bad...lol. ------------------------------------

--------- Muchas gracias, Sue y por favor, ojala
corrijan cualquier error que cometa. (lol, I hope I
just said please correct any error that I make, not
that you...others make?) :) I found that spanish
sentence in my notebook. I'm on the beginner level of
verbs, and I should not try to write until I can make
sense. But I found this word in a paperback book en
español, and I thought I would share it....the word
is: una ecografia and I think it means an ultra-sound
scan. The sentence in the romance novel is: "Me he
hecho anÅlisis y una ecografîa. Estoy embarazada de
ocho semanas." I don't know what the (prefex?-eco)
means in spanish but it sounds like ( echo ? ) and
that seems a pretty word to me....ecografîa! (webtv
keyboard can access Åéîü - that's all) Best regards,
Carol (I will reply to the other 2 parts later) :)
