PROVIDENCIALES, TURKS AND CAICOS: ACCIDENTE AEREO EN EL CARIBE - PLANE CRASHES IN CARIBBEAN

Miércoles 07 de febrero de 2007.- Providenciales, Turks And Caicos - A small charter plane reportedly carrying six people crashed in the Caribbean between two islands in the Turks and Caicos, officials said.

The plane was traveling from North Caicos to Grand Turk when it crashed on Tuesday, said Roedicio Roberts, an air traffic controller on Grand Turk.

He said he did not have information on casualties or the cause of the accident.

Police in the British Caribbean territory said they received a report of the accident at 18:45 and they believed six people were on board the plane.

"We believe people are injured but nothing is confirmed yet," police sergeant Dexter O'Neil said.
