Amigos,

De acuerdo con noticías surgidas en vários periódicos día 6 de Octubre seria
realizada una corrida de toros en el estadio de Shanghai.

Pues bien de acuerdo con noticia del mismo periódico con fecha de 28/9/04
la corrida fue cancelada y transferida para Octubre días 23/24 en el estadio
de Yangpu, distrito de Shangai. La noticia es un tanto o cuanto confusa
por tal la transcribimos.


Stop the bull

THE city's first bullfight was rescheduled from October 23-24 at Yangpu
Stadium in Yangpu District. The event was originally to run during the
National Day holiday at Shanghai Stadium. It was postponed by the Shanghai
Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau as Spain is listed with mad
cow
disease. Organizers will use eight bulls from Mexico instead.

Tuve conocimiento que planeian una corrida de toros para los días 23/24
de Octubre en el estadio de Yangpu.

Quiero expresar mi más completo repudio por semejante barbaridad. No consigo
entender como pueden permitir la tortura y muerte de 6 inocentes animales.
Deberián saber que esta corrida ensuciara la image y reputación de vuestra
ciudad y pais como organizador de los Olimpicos de 2008.

A traves de todo el mundo el numero de personas que luchan por un mundo
mejor y más respectuoso para los animales es cada vez mayor.

Aún es posible cambiar vuestra decisión y prohibir esta corrida. Por favor
muestren al mundo que Uds. respectan los animales y las personas que luchan
por un mundo mejor.

I understand that a bullfight is being organized on Ocotber 23/24th in the
Yangpu Stadium.

I wish to express my dismay that you are intending to allow the murder of
six innocent animals. You should be aware that this bullfight will irrevocably
stain the image and reputation of your city as well as your country as host
of the Olympic Games of 2008.

Throughout the world the number of people that fight for a better and more
compassionate society grows daily.

You still have time to change your minds and prevent this bullfight. Please
show the world that you respect living animals, and the people that are
fighting for a better world.
