A two-year post-doctoral fellowship in molecular systematics is available
at the Academy of Natural Sciences in Philadelphia. The Academy's
Laboratory of Molecular Systematics and Ecology (see
www.acnatsci.org/research/moleculargroup.html) will provide the facilities
and colleagues to support the successful candidate's research. Taxonomic
focus is open but projects that involve collaboration with senior
scientific staff at the Academy or that make special use of the Academy's
remarkable natural history collections are especially welcome:

Applicants are encouraged to correspond in advance with appropriate
scientists at the Academy. Requirements: Ph.D. in systematics or related
discipline, background in phylogenetic systematics and/or molecular
evolution; experience with DNA sequencing not absolutely necessary (i.e.,
some training can be provided), but evidence of lab skills is
necessary.Salary: Mid 30Ks.; there will also be an allowance for
laboratory work and possibly other research expenses based on project
needs.

Post-doctoral fellows are encouraged to contribute to the intellectual
life of the Academy, participating in seminars and discussion groups,
lending expertise to ongoing research projects in various areas, and
working with collections staff.
