I am looking for volunteers to collect data at Ostional National Wildlife
Refuge, Santa Cruz de Guanacaste, Costa Rica. I would like to fill the
positions immediately; the period of work will be March 2009 - December
2010.
Job: collect information on arribada nesting females using strip transect
methodology
(http://www.iucn-
eGates.pdf) and collect information on Population Analysis of Arribada
Behavior by Olive Ridley Turtles (Lepidochelys olivacea) and Lessons Learned
from Participatory Environmental Management at Ostional National Wildlife
Refuge, Costa Rica.
I would like to make it clear that the project does not have the funds to
cover international travel, lodging and food. All applicants must be able to
travel to Costa Rica at their own expense.
Requirements:
* Must have excellent work ethics
* Must show initiative
* Must be capable of working in a remote area (Ostional) and have
excellent people skills
* Bilingual (Spanish/English)
* Shorter periods negotiable
* Sea turtle field experience
