| VOLUNTEER POSITION-ZOOAVE, COSTA RICA The Nature Restoration Foundation (NRF) currently has one volunteer position open to international applicants. Zoo Ave’s Center for Wildlife Rescue and Rehabilitation (CWRR) annually receives over one hundred orphaned and pet animals; mostly parrot species, through official government confiscations. This position will require a three to six month commitment. Responsibilities will include daily care of orphaned animals including hand feeding, cleaning, watering, and application of medical treatments and general observations. This position may also include the opportunity to continue working with these animals through prerelease preparation and potentially after release monitoring, depending on length of volunteer commitment. Zoo Ave’s Scientific Director must receive application materials at least 2 months before the intended volunteer period, although allowing more time may work to the applicant’s benefit. Successful volunteer candidates must have a minimum of two years of biology or social science education or experience in a related field. These candidates will be self-motivated, conscientious individuals with the ability to get along well with staff members and the public.
