CEA Turtle Watch Program (TWP) During the nesting-hatching season (April-November), participants are invited who will help patrol the beaches each night and every morning to look for nests and tracks and record statistical data on nesting habits. As more hotels are built, the threat to nesting sites increases.
Participants are invited throughout the coming year that have skills in public relations, writing, art, illustration and public speaking to help develop an information program to combat the destruction of nesting sites with understanding. The program will involve preparing slide presentations and booklets, organizing workshops to educate both tourists and hotel management, designing display materials and traveling to nearby resorts to make presentations. Spanish speakers particularly are invited for these tasks and to carry the program to local schools, churches and civic groups.
