Daniel Taylor Wednesday August 1, 2007 The Guardian Gabriel Heinze faces the distinct possibility of being frozen out at Manchester United because of his aggressive pursuit of a transfer to Liverpool. Sir Alex Ferguson is so appalled at the defender's conduct that there are misgivings within Old Trafford about whether the Argentina international should be considered for first-team action for as long as the dispute remains unresolved.
Heinze is so desperate to leave Manchester that he has appointed Liverpool's own solicitors, Hill Dickinson, in an extraordinarily confrontational move which has left Ferguson and several others at Old Trafford feeling badly let down. The
manager intends to talk the matter through with his assistant, Carlos Queiroz, before they decide whether Heinze is in the right state of mind to play any part for the club when their title defence opens at home to Reading on August 12."

Manchester United full-back Gabriel Heinze is hopeful his future will be sorted out by the end of the week.The Argentina defender has been heavily linked with United's bitter rivals Liverpool in what has been one of the summer's longest transfer sagas.
However, the player admits he has been left in the dark over some of the ongoing negotiations.
Heinze insists a clause exists in his Old Trafford contract which allows him to leave United if another club makes a bid of £6.8million.
Liverpool are believed to have met the asking price, but United are unwilling to allow the deal and Heinze is reportedly thought to be considering legal action.
Heinze, though, is
optimistic he will soon secure a move away from the Premier League champions.
"Sometimes the player is the last one to find out where he will play," Heinze told The Sun.
"I know there are several teams interested in me and that makes me feel really proud.
"I'll know precisely in what team I'm going to play at the end of the week. In a few days we'll see what will happen."
