prazo/plazo/deadline:  n/c

Greetings from Australia.  We are an independent media group from Melbourne called SKA TV.  We produce a 24-minute program in Melbourne called Access News, which airs on community television Channel 31 every week.  Though we usually focus on local activist events, demonstrations etc,, during the summer we will be screening a "World Season" in which we hope to source
footage from independent producers around the world.

So far we have covered issues such detention of asylum seekers, involvement in potential wars staged by the US, (such as our hosting of the Pine Gap Spy facility in central Australia),  the Reclaim the Streets protest movement, Anti-WTO demonstrations, environmental issues, indigenous issues..You get the picture.

We are seeking any footage, documentaries etc that have a social justice, environmental focus, or any shit that's going down in your region, we want to know about it!  We will accept edited footage of 24 minutes (the length of our show) or less, or we can edit it down ourselves if you don't mind us doing so.

Access News has produced quality documentaries and the occasional scoop that has seen our programs screened at festival globally, and earned us a reputation as activist media-makers.  For more information visit our

@ Proyecto SoloCortos
==========================================
prazo/plazo/deadline:  n/c

@ Become a Web Broadcaster, Free
==========================================
prazo/plazo/deadline:  n/c

Your nine-month-old has just taken his first steps, and you want Grandma to see how precocious he is. Problem is, she lives halfway across the country.

Why not show her in a live QuickTime webcast? If you're a Mac user with a DV camcorder or webcam, you could be broadcasting on the  web today. In minutes. For free.

Just download the Apple QuickTime Broadcaster. It sends out a single stream that viewers at one computer (Mac or Windows) can watch using the free QuickTime Player. (For multiple streams, you'll need to set up a streaming server or a multicast-enabled network.)

Once you've installed QuickTime Broadcaster, look in the Help  menu for step-by-step instructions on how to set it up.

Better hurry--Grandma's waiting.

prazo/plazo/deadline:  15 JAN 2003

Established in 1998, Subtle Technologies is a  non-profit arts organization dedicated to investigating the relationships between art, science and technology. Every May we present the Subtle Technologies festival at the University of Toronto. This multidisciplinary event invites
artists, scientists, technologists and theorists to discuss, demonstrate and exhibit their work. The festival is an opportunity to explore areas still searching for definitions, explanations and meaning. It is our goal to have a varied program to provide a forum for the cross pollination of ideas.

2003 Programs Seeking Proposals

General Symposium: Throughout the three days of presentations, we aim to cover a wide variety of subjects. In the past, topics addressed include quantum physics, quantum computing and other unconventional computing technologies, music, dance, consciousness research, holography, animation, genetics, sonic explorations, sensing systems and devices, social systems,complexity theory, and artificial intelligence.The programming of the general symposium is shaped by the submissions of
each year and is meant to broaden the scope ofdisciplines or areas of research for those who attend. People who have attended the conference remark that
although the individual topics at the conference are extremely interesting it is often the threads that are woven between the various presentations made by speakers from varied disciplines that make the conference a unique experience .

We strongly encourage interested applicants to submit proposals that are outside the topics mentioned above if they feel their proposal fits into the general mandate of the festival. Please visit the archives at:
http://www.subtletechnologies.com to acquaint yourself with the history of our programming.

This peer-reviewed journal presents the cutting edge of ideas, projects and practices arising from the confluence of art, science, technology and consciousness research. It has a special interest in matters of mind and the extension of the senses through technologies of cognition and perception. It documents accounts of transdisciplinary research, collaboration and innovation in the design, theory and production of new systems and
structures for life in the 21st century, while inviting a re-evaluation of older worldviews, esoteric knowledge and arcane cultural practices.
Artificial life, the promise of nanotechnology, the ecology of mixed reality environments, the reach of telematic media, and the effect generally of a post-biological culture on human values and identity, are issues central to
the journal's focus.
