Seeking actors for upcoming production of MEMORIES OF
OVERDEVELOPMENT, long-awaited sequel to perhaps the most famous Cuban
film of all, MEMORIES OF UNDERDEVELOPMENT/ Memorias del Subdesarrollo
(1968). Both films are adaptations of novels by Cuban author Edmundo
Desnoes.

Production will start in fall, mainly in NYC and the Catskills, but
also in South Dakota, Alabama, Miami, Havana, Venice, and Paris over
a three month period. Minimal pay. Food, lodging, and transportation
provided.

MEMORIES OF OVERDEVELOPMENT will be director Miguel Coyula s second
feature. His debut, the controversial RED COCKROACHES (2004), is
presently screening at international film festivals and has garnered
14 awards so far. In a June review Variety described it as
"undeniably inventive, visually stunning" where " Eros and Thanatos
take turns supplying plot twists ... in a future of BLADE RUNNER-like
bleakness." Variety called Coyula "a visionary with know-how."

Edmundo ( 55-70 ) -- aging Cuban intellectual, tall, intelligent,
cold, cynical. Must speak both Cuban Spanish and English fluently.
Lead role, will be on screen throughout the film.

Young Edmundo (25-35).

Deidre (20-30) -- beautiful, dark-haired New York City college student.

Alba (20-30) -- attractive Puerto Rican New York City college student.

Angela (late 50s) -- New York model, nudity required.

Fuesanta (20-30) Edmundo s first wife from Spain, late 1950 s

Lester ( 50-65 ) -- fellow New York City professor, friend of Edmundo.

Fortuna ( 25-35 ) -- precocious editor-in-chief of Spanish-language
news magazine, New York City, late 1950 s

Pablo ( 25-35) Edmundo s naive brother

Jess ( 25-45 ) -- Cuban photographer friend of Edmundo living in
Queens with his wife and daughter, New York in the late 1950 s

Dorothy (50-60) -- Jehovah's Witness from midwest, Edmundo s lover in
Catskills.

Al (50-70) -- Jehovah's Witness.

Andre (40-50) -- New York City literary agent.

Charlotte (40-50) Edmundo s second wife.

Larry and Lisa (80's) -- Catskills neighbors of Edmundo.

Sam and Sonya (late 50's) -- Catskills neighbors of Edmundo.

Annie (late 40 s) -- Catskills neighbor of Edmundo, lives in trailer home.

Miriam -- mysterious little girl (7-13).

Francisco, Ofelia, their 25-year-old son Alberto -- Edmundo's Cuban
relatives in Miami.

Easter European plumber. (50-60)

Midwest policeman. (30-50)

Midwest family -- husband, wife, little girl.

Young woman in Catskill's supermarket. (25-30)

Many other small roles are also available.
