Tous les frais d'organisation du cours de formation, les transports (du pays d'origine a Paris, le retour et dans Paris intra muros), l'hebergement et la demi-pension sont a la charge de l'Union Latine. Established in 1994, this programme aims to promote the professional growth of young artists in different disciplines, mainly by providing opportunities for further training in specialised institutions. The programme is managed by UNESCO's International Fund for the Promotion of Culture (IFPC) and is based on the Fund's co-operation with a large network of international partner institutions. Since the creation of the programme, the number of bursaries offered and applications received has steadily grown. Almost 400 young artists have already benefited from the programme.

For 2002-2003, the programme proposes and presents 57 bursaries offered by 51 partner institutions in 27 countries. The increasing success of the UNESCO-ASCHBERG Bursaries for Artists has encouraged seven new prestigious institutions to join the network. Similarly, some of the partner institutions have decided to increase the number of bursaries and to enlarge their field of co-operation to others disciplines.
