Les escribo para comunicarles que a partir del dia de la fecha la Asociacion Ibero Americana de Teatro Universitario, AIATU, cuenta con un espacio en la web.

Criado pela animadora, designer e webmistress Adriana Bicalho, e que apresenta os bastidores da producao de um ciclo de animacoes em estilo expressionista, intitulado Trilogia do Caos, e para o qual dois episodios ja foram produzidos: A Flor do Caos (Formato Betacam, Premio da Secretaria Municipal de Cultura da Prefeitura de Belo Horizonte) e Selenita Acusa! (Formato Betacam e 35mm, Premio Estimulo da Associacao Curta Minas/CEMIG). O ultimo episodio da trilogia, Dr. Cretinus Retorna..., esta em fase de producao. Reunidos, os tres capitulos constituirao o primeiro longa-metragem em computacao grafica produzido em Minas Gerais. A equipe da producao, que integra o projeto de pesquisa academico Animacao Expressionista, envolve 18 professores, tecnicos e alunos de graduacao e pos-graduacao da Escola de Belas Artes da UFMG. Demais informacoes podem ser buscadas no site, que e atualizado regularmente com as ultimas noticias das producoes.

Nick Bolton becomes the second New Zealander to make e-mail history with his excellent freeware spam killing program. The first is David Harris, the creator of Pegasus Mail. Spam is one of the certainties on the Net. You don't even have to leave your e-mail address on a web site to start getting Spam. Sometimes just leaving your business card somewhere will start the nefarious
messages.
Mailwasher downloads your Pop mail before it arrives on you computer.You can use MW sophisticated filters or you can filter the messages manually. Once you establish a message as Spam the e-mail address is on the "BlackList" and will be automatically deleted the next time

MW has cut that down to about 5 minutes. Besides the time saving I don't have to look at my junk mailbox and scan to see if there are any important messages. RUN, DON'T WALK TO MAILWASHER.

While working on a television project a few years after the Soviet Union's 1991 demise, Mr. Johnson stumbled upon the Russian State Film and Photo Archive at Krasnogorsk, a four-block facility containing all the country's nonfiction films.
Web surfers now can access nearly 25,000 of the films in Russian and about 5,000 films in English. Thousands of pictures already are online, including Soviet propaganda posters and cartoons, and diary entries written by the Romanovs.

Ya esta en marcha la nueva pagina web de la RAE que ha sido actualizada, disenada y entregada 'llave en mano' por el gigante informatico IBM, informo El Pais.
El portal, que fue presentado por el academico ngel Martin Municio y la presidenta de IBM Espana, Amparo Moraleda, en la sede de la RAE, incluye el acceso directo a la edicion digital del nuevo Diccionario, con un buscador para consultar por palabras y una opcion que incorpora el Diccionario al navegador de Internet
La pagina incorpora en la ventana izquierda el acceso a los servicios de la Academia: las consultas linguisticas; un avance del Diccionario de dudas; las base de datos del espanol (CREA y CORDE), una aplicacion llamada Conjugacion verbal, que presenta todos los tiempos del verbo que se elija (tiene 5.000 entradas); el registro comparado de los diccionarios elaborados por la Academia (llamado el Nuevo Tesoro Lexicografico), y el acceso al catalogo de la Biblioteca de la RAE, que contiene cerca de 74.000 registros y ha requerido seis anos de trabajo.

En la ventana derecha de la pagina aparecen los apartados de informacion institucional, en la que se puede encontrar una breve historia de la Academia y la novedad de acceder a los distintos departamentos de forma separada.
Segun informaron los especialistas informaticos de la RAE Fernando Sanchez y Octavio Pinillos, el nuevo Observatorio del Neologismo, cuya creacion fue acordada en Valladolid la semana pasada por todas las academias de la lengua, se incorporara a la pagina en cuanto este en marcha.
Una modernizacion que empezo hace doce anos, dijo, 'cuando IBM trajo los ordenadores, entraron por la puerta de Felipe IV y revolucionaron muchas mentes de esta casa'. Desde entonces, segun Martin Municio, la RAE se ha convertido 'en uno de los mejores centros de linguistica computacional de Espana'. Y lo ha hecho, dijo, gracias, entre otras cosas, 'al impulso desinteresado y amistoso de IBM'.
Amparo Moraleda califico como un placer ayudar a la RAE a velar por la unidad de la lengua en un momento en que el espanol es el sexto idioma de Internet (un 6% del total), tras el ingles (70%), japones, aleman, chino y frances. Moraleda destaco que IBM invierte '6.000 millones de dolares anuales en I+D en el mundo, cifra equivalente a la que dedica a ese capitulo el Gobierno espanol en un ano'.
