The Daniel Langlois Foundation for Art, Science, and Technology is launching a call for research proposals in the program of grants for researcher in residence. This program being in its second year, the Foundation hopes to foster critical thinking about how technologies affect people and their natural and cultural environments.
Following an international competition open to historians, curators,critics, independent researchers, artists and scientists, the Foundation will enable two researchers to work in the collections and archives of the Centre for Research and Documentation (CR+D). Postgraduate Research Opportunities
The School has also recently received an AHRB grant to research the digital and computer based arts in the United Kingdom from their origins to the 1980s, involving the construction of a theoretical and historical framework to place this work in the context of the arts during the late 20th century.
Postdoctoral Research Fellow
Ref: EHA096 (3-year fixed term)
You will be responsible for discovering, identifying and preserving artworks and contacting relevant practitioners and pioneers and play a major role in the creation of the electronic resource. You will be involved in the planning and teaching of a course on curating digital artwork and will contribute to and help produce publications and other outcomes. Applicants should have a PhD in a relevant area.
Experience of maintaining or developing digital resources would be an advantage. Appointment tenable from 1 October 2002.
Salary range: 19,760 - 21,815 (GBP)
MPhil/PhD Studentship

A bursary (fees and maintenance) is available to assist the Research Fellow in the above project. You will have the opportunity to contribute to academic publications and teach in relevant areas.
