Web Lab is looking for online dialogue monitors to follow and report on online discussions among several thousand high school students around the U.S., talking in small groups about how they can make a difference in their schools and their communities.
These online dialogues are a key component of Project 540, a two-year initiative prompting young people to talk
about their power to make change and their opportunities to be heard in their schools, their communities, and the
world. Through dialogues face-to-face and online, students will identify the issues they care about and offer
recommendations for action.
Web Lab is seeking experienced monitors to work between 15 and 25 hours per week, during one week of
training and three phases of online dialogues. Each phase will last 3-4 weeks, for a total commitment of around 13 weeks during fall and winter 2002-2003.
Working closely with Web Lab's dialogue managers and director of community, monitors will be responsible for following several dialogue groups, selecting featured discussions, tracking trends and trouble, recommending community management decisions, and reporting dialogue results. Training will take place at the end of August and dialogues will happen in staggered phases between September 2002 and March 2003.

Prior experience hosting or moderating online discussion is strongly preferred.
