2007 WAE CW, Russian DX Shake Up WRTC South America Qualifying;
PY8AZT, P43JB #1
By Jamie Dupree NS3T, radio-sport.net
Taking full advantage of this year's Worked All Europe CW and Russian
DX contests, Luciano Moreira PY8AZT and Joop Bok P43JB are the new
leaders in the race for two South American qualifying spots for the
2010 World Radiosport Team Championships in Russia.
Moreira used a third place finish from the SA #1 qualifying region in
Brazil in WAE CW and a top high power score in the 2007 Russian DX to
gather almost 1400 points, giving him 3,108 and a clear lead over
second place PY2NY, at 2,401.
Not active in either contest, previous SA #1 leader Marcelo Pedretti
PY2NA now finds himself well back in 9th place, with 1,710 points.
The story was the same in the SA #2 region, which covers all of South
America other than Brazil, as Bok P43JB used a second place WAE CW
finish and a first place in CW only in Russian DX to add 999 points
to his WRTC totals.
Bok now leads SA #2 by 137 points over LU1EWL, who added 511 in WAE
CW. Back in fourth place is past leader Lucas Maiorov LU1FAM, who
trails now by 242 points.

(Radio-sport.net has tried to be as accurate as possible. If you find
a mistake, or that your score line is missing a contest result,
please send us an email and we will be happy to check and correct the
numbers.)
Please remember that it is your responsiblity to track your progress
and submit your score to the WRTC sponsors.
The qualifying rules allow you to submit your top eight scores from
certain contests. No more than four may be from multi-operator
efforts.
You will note that some scores in the spreadsheets have been colored
in. All multi-ops are noted with a yellow background. Scores from a
contest operation outside of your home WRTC region are colored in
blue.
A score that was both outside your home region and from a multi-op
has a purple color.
The qualifying rules stipulate that no more than four of your eight
best scores can come from a multi-operator effort - AND no more than
four of your scores can be from outside your "home" region.
On the far right of the spreadsheet, some stations have a list of how
many multi-op scores and how many are DX. It is mainly noted for
those who are over the limit or close to it.
