The IARU Region 1 High Speed
7th IARU Region 1 High Speed Telegraphy Championship
5-9th October 2010
Polish Amateur Radio Union (PZK) is pleased to invite all
the High Speed Telegraphy teams, individual competitors and visitors/guests from
all over the world to the 7th IARU Region 1 HST Championship.
It will take place in Skierniewice, central Poland, from 5th till 9th
October 2010. Venue: The Championship will be held in Skierniewice, situated in
central Poland, 80km south west from Warsaw, the capital of Poland. Skierniewice
is a relatively small town (area of 32 square kilometers and 50 000
inhabitants), but it is an important railway node. It is a good start point for
tours to Mazovia region.

Arrival: By car or bus: teams or
participants travelling with their own cars or buses may use a route planner to
find the address 96-100 Skierniewice, ul. Pomologiczna 10, which is the main
location of the championship events.

. Skierniewice are easy
to be reached from the main north-south and east-west speedways (2, 7, 8). By
train: participants travelling by train should reach Warszawa Centralna station
and take a train - usually heading to Łódź or travelling through Łódź - and
leave in Skierniewice. It costs 5-10 EUR, depending which train - suburb or a
fast one - they choose. The actual schedule can be found at www.rozklad.pkp.pl
Fast trains depart from Warszawa Centralna station, the suburb trains from
Warszawa Srodmiescie station, which can be accessed by 5 minutes walk from
Warszawa Centralna. By plane: Warsaw has airport with two terminals.
There are city buses connecting the airport directly with the Warszawa
Centralna railway station. One way ticket costs 0.60 EUR. It is recommended to
use a cheap city bus and reach the station after 20-30 minutes drive, depending
on the traffic. Taking a taxi may be expensive. Then take a train to
Accommodation and board: The accomodation will be provided by two hotels:
Polonia and Start. Both hotels have two bedded rooms with bathrooms, fulfilling

will be provided at the championship venue.
Visa requirement: Poland is a member of European Union and Schengen
regulations are also valid. Participants from the countries that need visa and
will apply to participate in the championship, will be informed about this fact
after receiving their letter of intent by the organizers.
General schedule of the Championship: 5th October, Tuesday arrival,
official opening; 6th October, Wednesday competition, awarding; 7th October,
Thursday competition, awarding; 8th October, Friday trip to Warsaw,
awarding, closing ceremony and banquet; 9th October, Saturday departure.
Entry fee and terms of payment: There are two options of application: as a
competitor or as a guest. The price covers accommodation, full board, tour,
banquet and entry fee. The guest does not take part in the competition, so does
not have to pay the entry fee. The costs are following: · Competitors: 250 EUR ·
Guests: 160 EUR In case of any special wishes, like single occupancy of the
room, the participant should send the request to the organizers as soon as
The organizers will do their best to fulfill the request. The participant
will be informed about the accommodation status and possible additional cost
related to it before the competition.
